On September 15, 2006, Oona O’Brien (age 16) was born in Charlotte, a city in North Carolina, to her mother, Susan Kobrin, and father, Ed O’Brien, an English guitarist. Her dad wanted her also to join music, but she was under the influence of romantic-comedy movies.
Despite coming from a musical family, Oona chose to make her way into acting; she did her voice training under Andrew Sickel and attended Acting Studio Chicago, ATC, for her improv and acting training.
According to sources, she began her career as a print child model, appearing in ads for brands like Lana Jewelry, American Girl, IMX Studios, Nexcom, and Blackbox Studios; she was a part of several catalogs, magazines, and ad campaigns where she began to appear weekly.
Entering the Acting World
Gradually from a print model, she moved on to TV commercials, becoming a part of Nickelodeon, Nike, Skyzone, and American Girl; she did a little theatre as well; a few famous plays are “School of Rock,” “Annie,” “Second City,” and “The Fig and the Wasp.”
