Rzhitsky had served in the Black Sea Fleet, holding the rank of captain II, and had commanded the large diesel-electric submarine B-265 Krasnodar, as reported by Kommersant. While Ukrainian sources have referred to him as responsible for launching the Kalibr missiles, this information should be treated cautiously.

Sources also revealed that Stanislav spent some of his childhood years in Petropavlovsk but mostly in Chita, where he completed his schooling in 1998.

Following the family tradition, Rzhitsky also decided to join the Navy. He received training at St. Petersburg Naval Institute.

Rzhitsky’s career in the Russian Navy began with his service in the Black Sea Fleet as the commander of a mine-torpedo warhead on the B-871 Alrosa submarine.

Over the years, he rose through the ranks, becoming the assistant commander of Alrosa in 2005 and senior assistant commander of the B-380 submarine “Saint Prince George” in 2007.

In 2012, he assumed the role of assistant commander of Alrosa, eventually leading the crew in 2013. In 2016, Rzhitsky took command of the B-265 Krasnodar submarine and actively participated in military operations against the Islamic State.

While some Ukrainian sources attributed him to the launch of Kalibr missiles, others suggested that Rzhitsky had submitted his resignation before the conflict began. These conflicting accounts added to the controversy surrounding his involvement in the war.

After his service in the Navy, Rzhitsky transitioned into city administration, specifically working in the department for mobilization.
