All About Yo Gotti’s Brother Big Jook

Big Jook (age 47, September 5, 1976 – January 13, 2024) was not only a talented Musical Artist but also one of the co-founders of the CMG group. He gained recognition, particularly as the brother of the well-known American rapper, Yo Gotti. Sadly, Anthony Mims’ life was tragically cut short on January 13, 2024, in Memphis.

The incident occurred outside Perignons Restaurant and Event Center on Winchester Road during a family member’s repass service. Around 4:15 PM, Big Jook and another man, still unidentified, were shot. An officer nearby responded to the multiple gunshots and discovered both victims. They were swiftly transported to the hospital.

Tragically, Anthony Mims, at the age of 47, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim remains in critical condition, providing a glimmer of hope amid this unfortunate incident.

Although the police have video footage of the incident, they have not yet identified the suspect. Deputy Chief Paul Wright mentioned during a press conference that the authorities are actively analyzing the video but have not determined if there were multiple shooters.

CMG Artists Pay Tribute to the Late Big Jook

The news of Anthony Mims’ passing has deeply impacted several artists associated with Yo Gotti’s CMG label. The social media accounts of these artists became platforms for expressing their grief.

Louisville rapper Est Gee, also part of the CMG family, shared a photo of himself with Jook, praising his authenticity: “Kept it real wit me I could never forget,” wrote Gee.

Big Boogie, another CMG rapper, posted a humble photo of himself with a bowed head, honoring “Big Jook” with the words “Forever Love You.” Through a series of Instagram stories, Big Boogie shared photos and videos of Jook with heartfelt messages.

GloRilla, a prominent CMG rapper, took to Instagram, sharing a poignant photo from the 2023 Grammy Awards featuring herself, Yo Gotti, and Jook. The caption, “Get your rest” accompanied by a crying emoji, expressed the artist’s sorrow.

Surprisingly, Big Jook’s Instagram account still featured his latest post from Friday. A picture of Mims was accompanied by a now haunting caption: “They don’t want to face you, they wanna snake you. Stay alert 2 stay alive, watch your back at all times.”
