Officials from the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office were called to 500 Allison Road in West Lafayette on a Sunday around 11:30 am after reports of a possible death. When they arrived, they sadly found the lifeless body of a “college-aged male” on the Purdue University campus.

The student was identified as Acharya, a double major in computer science and data science at the John Martinson Honors College of Purdue University. Chris Clifton, the head of the Computer Science department, shared the news of Neel’s passing with faculty and students, as reported by Purdue Exponent, an independent multimedia agency not affiliated with the university.
