Soderstrom Resigned Amid Investigation

After an incident, the Oklahoma Council on Judicial Complaints started looking into the actions of former District Judge Traci Soderstrom. This inquiry began when they got a video from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, showing Soderstrom’s controversial behavior during a trial.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court found that Soderstrom sent over 500 text messages to her bailiff during the trial. These texts talked about the trial itself, with both Soderstrom and the bailiff saying negative things about witnesses, calling them liars.

The court said this behavior showed a severe neglect of duty, unfair favoritism, and abuse, and it also showed Soderstrom didn’t have the right attitude for a judge. Just three days before her trial in a special court, Soderstrom resigned, admitting she acted inappropriately.
