A tragic incident unfolded on a sunny afternoon at Allen Premium Outlets, leaving the community in shock and mourning. According to officials, the shooting began around 3:36 p.m., and witnesses reported seeing a shooter dressed in all black near the Fatburger restaurant in the mall complex.

Eyewitnesses said the shooting started near the H&M store at the outlet mall. In response to the gunshots, an officer from the Allen Police Department, who was in the vicinity responding to an unrelated incident, rushed toward the source of the sound. The officer quickly “neutralized” the shooter near the Fatburger restaurant and called for emergency personnel.

The swift action of the police officer may have saved countless lives and prevented the situation from escalating further. Despite the quick response from law enforcement, the shooting claimed nine lives, including the shooter himself. The Allen Fire Chief, Jonathan Boyd, confirmed that seven individuals died at the scene, while two others died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

The community was left heartbroken as they mourned the loss of innocent lives in such a senseless act of violence. Following the incident, the FBI took evidence from a home in Northeast Dallas where the suspect was identified as Mauricio Garcia.
