Ismael Cruz Cordova (April 7, 1987, age 35 years) is a Puerto Rican-born American Actor who is better known among his fans for playing the role of Mando in the 2013 released series “Sesame Street,” in which Ismael worked until 2015 and gained immense fame, and after “Sesame Street,” his fame continued with his work in “Exposed,” “The Pastor” “Ray Donovan” “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” “Divorce” & “Citizen.”
In 2022, Ismael once again found himself in the limelight after he played the role of Arondir in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” the highly anticipated series which aired on September 2.

On April 7, 1987, Ismael Cruz Cordova (age 35) took birth in a middle class family in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. He developed a passion for acting in high school when he became part of a drama club. At 15, he received his first acting job for a local commercial. Gradually he developed his skills and moved on to more significant projects. From 2002 to 2004, he played minor parts in multiple products, including “American Latino TV” and “El Cuerpo del Delito.”
After schooling, he did multiple acting courses and worked on various projects, but he wanted to work in Hollywood, which is why in 2006, he came to New York, America. After coming to NYC, he joined NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
From Aguas Buenas to New York
As expected, America proved beneficial for Cordova’s career. While at Tisch, he worked extensively as a theatre artist. The Latino Leaders Magazine named Ismael on the 25 leaders of the future list. Besides LLM, Ford Motors also recognized Cruz’s talent and awarded him with VOCES de Ford Award.
In 2010, Cordova cleared an audition and landed the role of Jimmy Patrick in a mystery-filled crime drama, “The Good Wife.” In 2013 Ismael worked for the iconic children’s show “Sesame Street,” which helped boost his career.
But the show that helped Cruz establish himself in Hollywood was “Ray Donovan.” According to his IMDB profile, he joined the cast of this Showtime series in season four and played the part of a boxer named Hector Campos.
