Kimberlee Singler (age 35, born in 1988) resident of Colorado, is currently being sought by authorities due to allegations involving the tragic deaths of two of her young children, as well as an attempt to harm a third child who sustained injuries during the incident.

On December 19, a reported burglary at their apartment in the northeast city led to the discovery of Kimberlee and her three children, all injured.

Found Injured At Home 

On the night of December 19, 2023, Colorado Springs police responded swiftly to a reported burglary at Kimberlee Singler’s residence on Palomino Ranch Point around 12:30 a.m.

Upon their arrival, they discovered Singler and her 11-year-old daughter with injuries. Tragically, her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son were found deceased at the scene.

Singler and her daughter received immediate medical attention at the home and were later transported to local hospitals for further treatment. The specific circumstances surrounding the children’s tragic fate were not immediately disclosed.

Interestingly, Kimberlee Singler, identified as the mother, was permitted to leave the hospital as she was initially considered a victim, and law enforcement did not have enough grounds for an arrest at that time.

Issue of Arrest Warrants

As the investigation progressed, it was uncovered that the initial burglary report was unfounded, casting suspicion on Kimberlee Singler. On December 26, 2023, homicide investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Singler, who had mysteriously disappeared.

Sources indicate that she was last seen at a relative’s residence, but her current whereabouts remain unknown, as stated by officials. The police department’s Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force is actively involved in the pursuit of the fugitive.

Facing serious charges, Singler is accused of four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse, and first-degree assault.

The court has established Singler’s bond at $10 million. Currently, the specifics of the arrest warrant are sealed under a court order and are expected to be revealed at a later time.

Kimberlee’s Legal Battle With Her Ex-Husband

According to court documents, Kimberlee Singler and her ex-husband, Kevin Wentz, finalized their divorce in 2020. However, their separation led to a prolonged legal battle over the custody of their three children, aged 11, nine, and seven, spanning almost four years. Singler persistently sought full custody and considered relocating the kids to Oregon or Florida.

Despite a visitation plan approved by a Larimer County Judge, which outlined specific dates and times for Wentz’s visits, full custody wasn’t granted to him. This arrangement faced multiple challenges. On September 18, 2023, Wentz followed the custody agreement and arrived at Singler’s Colorado Springs apartment.

Singler accused him of using offensive language and wielding a knife. The Colorado Springs Police (CSPD) found no reason to arrest Wentz after investigating the incident. Fast forward to December 16, 2023, when Singler was supposed to drop off the children to Wentz at the CSPD Stetson Hills Substation at 9 A.M.

Unfortunately, she didn’t show up, prompting Wentz and his attorney to seek court intervention. Larimer County Judge Patrick Esser granted their request, instructing law enforcement to assist Wentz in obtaining immediate custody of the children. Singler was unreachable, initially claiming she was far from the police station. Later contact revealed she was in Breckenridge, Colorado, with all three children.

Wentz and his attorney claimed a “willful” violation of the custody agreement and demanded the immediate return of the children. In response, the judge granted full-time custody to Wentz until their next hearing on January 18, 2024, to revisit the custody and visitation agreement.

Sadly, before the custody transfer could happen, the heartbreaking tragedy occurred, with Singler accused of the unimaginable act of harming her children.
