Rodion Amirov (age 21, October 2, 2001- August 14, 2023) was a talented Russian ice hockey forward who was a promising prospect for the Toronto Maple Leafs, a professional hockey team based in Russia. Rodion Amirov was born on October 2, 2001, in Salavat in Russia. His mom, Inna Amirova, and his dad Ruslan Amirov were really important in his life.

When Rodion was just five years old, he put on ice skates for the first time. His dad took him to the local rink during the winter; a year later, his dad signed him up for official hockey training. Rodion loved it a lot and wanted to get better.

One day, Rodion and his dad went to watch a big hockey game in the city of Ufa. It was cool – bright lights, noise, and exciting games. Rodion got super inspired and wanted to be really good at hockey.

Playing hockey and going to school was a bit tricky for Rodion Amirov. As he got older, it became harder to manage both. But he believed that when you love something, challenges are just temporary obstacles.

He thought that discipline was necessary in everything, even in school. He knew that even if he had to stop playing hockey someday, he should be ready for a different life – like getting a good education and being good at something else.

As he got older, he became interested in the Tolpar MHL club. He played his first real games in 2018 and scored his first goal on February 14, which was a big deal for him.

The following season, he did even better and got a lot of points, even though he played fewer games than his teammates.

Amirov’s involvement with the Russian junior team began to flourish. He participated in the Vladislav Tretiak International Cup and played over thirty national team matches.
