Meet Aaron Westberry, American Idol 20 Contestant

We hope you haven’t missed the March 4 episode of ABC’s American Idol Season 20. A 20-year guy Aaron Westberry (born in 2001), auditioned and got termed by the judges as “Walking Melatonin” because of his calm and carefree nature.

Before auditions, in a brief interview, he got asked what he would want to tell people about himself, to which he replied, “My mind is blank right now trying to answer this question.” Strange right! But wait, his personality unfolded when he came in front of the trio of judges.

Luke Bryan asked him whether he was attending college, to which Aaron said no and further stated, “Just working, trying to, haven’t made any big decisions yet.” And Katy said, “He says he hasn’t made any big decisions. He’s only auditioning for American Idol.”

With a few more blows of laugh, Westberry started singing “2016” by Sam Hunt while rolling fingers on the keys of a white piano.

Heartbreak Voice

Perry said he reminds her of Owen Wilson by listening to his voice. Luke found him singing with a legitimate heartbreaking voice and stated, “You have a heartbreak tone, man. You could sing some stuff, and it pulls us in, and we’re just like, oh, my God. This kid is breaking our hearts”.

All of the judges were impressed with Aaron Westberry his voice and the personality that he carries. Lionel advised him to sing more passionately because it is only through passion that one may attain one’s goals.

With some more compliments, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan gave him the golden ticket and a chance to move to the next round at Hollywood.

Aaron Westberry Family

At Greenville, South Carolina, Aaron Westberry (age 20) was born to his father David Westberry and mother, Laura  Westberry, in 2001. He is the Westberry family’s youngest member, with an older brother named Andrew and an older sister named Alison.

Both of his siblings are brilliant and pursuing higher studies. His sister has been studying to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy program at MUSC since May 2019. On the other hand, Aaron is only a high school graduate from Eastside High School, and, for now, he has stalled his higher studies.

Job as Produce Stocker

Keeping studies on the side, Aron, as of 2022, is working at a place called “Produce Planet” at the post of produce stocker. His job is to place veggies on the shelves and make sure that all of them are fresh & clean.

He does not like the job but is doing it to manage his expenses. Before you make any assumption, let us tell you here that Aaron belongs to a wealthy background but still, instead of asking parents for money, he believes in working hard and earning himself.

Aaron Westberry Singing Journey

It has not been much time since Aaron Westberry started singing. His interview during American Idol auditions unraveled that once, he sent a video to a girl who told him that he has a lovely voice.

Since then, he started singing and also learned piano. When the interviewer asked if he liked that girl, Westberry said, “No, she was a friend.” His Social media accounts are relatively new, and the oldest picture on his Instagram account is from February 18, 2022.
