After high school graduation, he joined Columbus State University, and from there, he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After completing studies at Kennesaw State University, Stewart moved to NYC but then shifted to LA. In Los Angeles, John first connected with a famous talent management agency named The Gersh Agency and began looking for work.

In 2014 during an audition, he impressed the casting directors of “Gotham” and landed the role of Officer Griffin Katz. In the same year, he also played a minor role in Jeff Rake’s comedy series “The Mysteries of Laura,” and in “Blue Bloods,” he portrayed the character of Officer Keith Roosevelt.
